Reformer Pilates Class

CLASSES

REFORMER INTRODUCTION

New to Reformer? Or need a refresher? Start here.

A 50-minute class designed specifically to introduce you to Reformer Pilates and the equipment.

You’ll learn how to use our Merrithew V2 Max Reformers — including the carriage, springs, straps and footbar — safely and confidently, while being introduced to the STOTT PILATES® Six Basic Principles that form the foundation of every class I teach.

We’ll move at a considered pace, giving you time to understand the equipment, ask questions and focus on technique — while still enjoying a balanced, full-body workout.

With a maximum of just six people, the class is small, supportive and personal, giving you plenty of individual attention and guidance.

Best for: Anyone completely new to Reformer Pilates, or those returning after a long break who would benefit from a refresher.

IMPORTANT: If you have never used a Reformer before, you must complete at least one Reformer Introduction class before attending Reformer Classic, Intermediate, Strength or Core.

This is for your own safety and the safety of others, and ensures you understand how to use the equipment safely before progressing.

No previous Pilates experience needed — just come ready to move!

REFORMER CLASSIC

Your go-to Essential-level Reformer class.

A balanced 50-minute, full-body workout combining strength, mobility, stability and control, with the STOTT PILATES® Six Basic Principles at the heart of every class.

Classes are taught on our Merrithew V2 Max Reformers — premium, studio-quality equipment offering a smooth, stable and incredibly versatile Reformer experience.

Classic is the natural progression from Reformer Introduction and gives you the opportunity to build confidence, develop your technique and become stronger on the Reformer.

With a maximum of just six people, classes are small and personal, allowing plenty of individual attention, guidance and modifications.

Exercises can be adapted or progressed to suit your individual needs, while keeping the class within the Essential level.

Best for: Clients who have completed Reformer Introduction, those relatively new to Reformer Pilates, anyone returning after a break or injury, or those who simply prefer a more considered and controlled pace.

Please note: Classic is not an Intermediate class. If you’re ready for more advanced exercises, faster transitions and greater challenge, please choose Reformer Intermediate.

Expect plenty of variety and to leave feeling stronger, taller and well worked.

REFORMER INTERMEDIATE

Ready to take your Reformer practice to the next level?

Ready to take your Reformer practice to the next level?

A 50-minute, more dynamic and progressive full-body workout designed to build greater strength, control, coordination and endurance.

Using our Merrithew V2 Max Reformers, Intermediate builds on the skills developed in Reformer Classic. Expect more challenging exercises, increased resistance, greater coordination, faster transitions and more complex movement patterns.

The STOTT PILATES® Six Basic Principles remain at the heart of the class, helping you maintain alignment, control and quality of movement as the exercises become more challenging.

With a maximum of just six people, you’ll still receive individual guidance and progression, but you should already feel confident using the Reformer and changing springs and equipment independently.

Best for: Clients with good Reformer experience who have been attending Classic regularly and are ready for greater challenge and progression.

IMPORTANT: If you have never done Reformer Pilates before, you CANNOT attend an Intermediate class. You must first attend Reformer Introduction.

If you book Intermediate without previous Reformer experience, you will not be permitted to take part and your class credit will be forfeited.

This policy is in place for your own safety and the safety of others in the class, and to ensure the session can be taught at the appropriate Intermediate level for everyone attending.

If you are unsure whether you are ready for Intermediate, please contact Harriet before booking.

REFORMER STRENGTH

Reformer meets strength training.

A 50-minute full-body workout combining our Merrithew V2 Max Reformers with weights and additional resistance, bringing together the control and precision of Pilates with progressive strength work.

The STOTT PILATES® Six Basic Principles remain central to the class, so even as we add load and resistance, the focus stays on alignment, control, stability and quality of movement.

Expect to work your legs, glutes, upper body and core, developing strength and muscular endurance while maintaining good technique.

This isn't simply about lifting heavier — it's about building strength well.

With a maximum of just six people, there is plenty of individual attention to help you work at the right level for you.

Best for: Clients who are already comfortable and confident using the Reformer and want to become stronger. Previous Reformer experience is required and some experience of lifting weights is recommended.

If you have never used a Reformer before, you must complete Reformer Introduction before attending this class. Whilst this isn’t an Intermediate class you would benefit from being confident on using the Reformer.

REFORMER CORE

Connect to your centre.

A 50-minute workout on our Merrithew V2 Max Reformers, with an increased focus on the powerhouse of your body — your core.

The STOTT PILATES® Six Basic Principles underpin the class, helping you understand how breathing, alignment and stability work together to create a strong and connected centre.

We’ll work the deep abdominals, obliques, back, glutes and pelvic stability, exploring how your centre supports movement throughout the whole body.

Expect a varied, full-body workout with plenty of core challenge — not 50 minutes of abdominal exercises!

With a maximum of just six people, you’ll receive individual attention and guidance throughout.

Best for: Clients with some Reformer experience who want to improve core strength, stability, posture and control. This is suitable for all levels once you have completed at least one Reformer Induction Class.

If you have never used a Reformer before, you must complete Reformer Introduction before attending this class.

REFORMER RESTORE

Stretch. Lengthen. Restore.

A 50-minute workout on our Merrithew V2 Max Reformers, with an increased focus on stretching, mobility and lengthening throughout the whole body.

The STOTT PILATES® Six Basic Principles underpin the class, helping you move with control, awareness and connection while allowing your body time to release and open.

We’ll use flowing, controlled movements and longer stretches to work through the hips, spine, shoulders and legs, helping to release tightness, improve flexibility and create more freedom of movement.

Expect a slower-paced, feel-good full-body class with plenty of stretching and mobility — but still with the control and precision of Pilates.

With a maximum of just six people, you’ll receive individual attention and guidance throughout.

Best for: Clients with some Reformer experience who want to improve flexibility, mobility and range of movement, release tightness or simply balance their stronger workouts with a more restorative session. Restore is a mixed-level class.

If you have never used a Reformer before, you MUST complete Reformer Introduction before attending this class.
